For each other: gifts that keep the wedding in the house
- The song from your first dance, on the wall. A custom song record has the lyrics of your song engraved in a spiral across a wooden record, with a header such as "Our Song", your wedding date and the artist and song in the center. Traditions to start this year
Some of the best first Christmas married ideas are not things you buy.
- One photo in the same spot, every year. Stand by the tree, take one picture, and put it on the first page of this year's photos. By the tenth Christmas the pages tell the story on their own.
- An ornament chosen together. Pick one ornament for the tree each year, from a trip or from the town where you spent the holidays, and write the year on the back.
- A letter to open later. Each of you writes a short letter about this first year and seals it; open both on your fifth or tenth Christmas.
- A shared first-Christmas list. Write down who you saw, what you cooked and what went wrong. Next year it is the funniest page in the book.
First Christmas married ornament ideas
An ornament is the small gift most couples receive that first December, and many makers sell them. We don't make ornaments ourselves, but these ideas last longer than most:
- An ornament with your new family name and the wedding date, hung first on the tree every year.
- A clear glass ornament holding a dried flower from the bouquet or a strip of the wedding invitation.
- A small frame ornament with a photo from the first dance.
- One ornament from the honeymoon, with the place and the year written on the back.
Keep them together with this year's photos, and the tree and the book tell the same story.
Wording ideas for a personalized gift

- Family name line: "The Walkers", "The Walker Family" or "Mr & Mrs Walker". Decide on the apostrophe before you order: "The Walkers" names the family, "The Walker's" does not.
- Date line: the wedding date for a sign that stays up all year ("June 14, 2026" or "Est. 2026"), the year alone for a Christmas book.

Every piece is made to order in 1–3 business days and ships free with FedEx or UPS express, arriving in about 3–4 business days. For delivery before Christmas, order by December 10 in the US, or by December 7 for Canada, the UK and the EU.
